Swarm season can be as early as February, but generally begins in April and lasts until October (although spring is the most frequent time that people come across swarms.)
Swarming is a way for bees to reproduce. It is a magical site and can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour. When a colony becomes too overpopulated with bees, they decide to vacate their current home. They will land on parked cars, decks, hammocks, tree branches or the side of a building.
Swarms are very docile as they do not have any resources (think honey) to defend.
LIVE BEE REMOVAL
If you have a colony of bees residing in your house/barn/tree, please keep a distance of 20 feet from their entrance. It’s common to have bees move into soffits, exterior siding of a house, they can land on an eve of a building, RV’s or any other sort of cavity the bees seem suitable as a home.
If this an emergency, call or text immediately!
We arrive and do an initial inspection, in agreement with the homeowner, the beekeeper will begin the removal of the bees. This is done with power tools and sometimes utilizes a “bee vacuum.”
The most important thing to do in this situation is to remain calm and walk as far away from the bees as possible
